Website
-
I have changed both the URL’s in my settings because I wanted to see what my site would be like with another name and thought that I could just log back in. I now only have acmes to my WordPress account but not to my actual website because the URL is different to my domain and cannot be found. It will not let me access any of the plugins (to restore my site) or settings (to change the URL back to the original) so I have no idea what to do. I have searched online for ages but I have only found how to restore your website when you still have access to it. I would love some help!!
Thank you.
P.S. I have a wordpress.com site and use Updraft-plus to backup my site. -
Hi there!
I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
