  Hi. I would like to build a website without transferring the website name yet from my current one. I am with Wix and have my domain owned by namecheap. Can I build without a domain with you or should I just pick me and then switch it?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  You can build your new site here and then wait to connect the domain until everything is ready to go.

  You can get a free site and the free features with a
  .wordpress.com subdomain. Use a temporary name for your site as an example: sitename.wordpress.com

  Keep the new site private as to not affect any SEO.

  Once you are ready you can choose to transfer or map your domain to WordPress.com
