  I am trying to build a wordpress site through Hostgator.com using a Youtube tutorial. Got an E-mail from Quick install that I successfully installed wordpress. It contained my URL, admin URL, username and password. According to the tutorial, when I click on the URL I should get the headline ‘Blog site coming soon’ but it says ‘Site is under development’. When I try the admin URL, I should get the login box but instead I get the headline ‘Page not found’. So, I can’t access my dashboard to begin building the site. I did try to build a wordpress site last August using Coolhandle.com and a different tutorial said the do something work (perhaps because the tutorial may have been outdated). I wonder if there is some residual info from that first attempt that is causing the problem. I would be most appreciative if someone could help get over this hump and on my way toward building a great website.

  There are two different versions of WordPress.

  These forums only provide support for the WordPress.com version; your site appears to use the self-hosted version from WordPress.org.

  If you need support for a self-hosted site, please try posting your question in the WordPress.org support forums, or try contacting Hostgator.
