  Hello, I own a B&B and I am looking to set up a new website with wordpress. I have my own domain and wanted to see if it was possible to set up the website to see what it looks like before I start the transfer. I want to see what it would look like before the move.

  Hi there,

  Definitely – what you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. Once you are developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  map and existing domain:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Or even creating a new one:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
