  Hello,

  My name is Katie and I own a B&B in Pennsylvania. I am looking to switch to wordpress.com for my hosting since it gives me more control than my current host. I wanted to ask if I can do the personal plan and build the website first; once it is all set up can I then attach it to my existing domain.

  That is correct, you can build your site using the free subdomain and map or transfer your custom domain whenever you’re ready.
