I am looking to build a new website (already own the domain name) and redo an existing site (not on wordpress), what is the best way to go about it and what would the costs be to host both with you?

Good Morning –
Thanks for getting in touch. Yes, you can do this. The site can be mocked up on a free version and then you can connect the domain(s) to it once everything is ready to go live.
There are 2 options for connecting the domain(s).
1. Mapping: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2. Transfer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/Let me know if you have any questions about the logistics of how those work. It’s worth noting that both options do create some down time for the domain which is unavoidable when moving. That’s why I suggest waiting to connect until you’re ready to go live with everything.
Using custom domains does require a plan upgrade. You’ll need the personal option or higher depending on the project. It includes your domain fees for that year, the features listed, and your hosting. It’s billed once annually. The plan can be upgraded or downgraded at any time. It also comes with access to our email and live chat support.
