  Good evening,

  I am new to wordpress – trying to move away from WIX. Am I right in thinking there are techinically 3 things to pay for when creating a site with yoursel. Domain, Hosting and the package which you have set pricing at free, £3 etc…

  I am aware i definately need hosting and a domain, but do i need a package as the website is just going to relay information – not to sell anything. Can i do this on a free plan and still get a normal domain and hosting? Or would I need to buy a personal plan or so to do this?

  Hi there,

  You do need hosting to have a website online, but you don’t pay for hosting on WordPress.com. We provide that for free, and we started hosting your site at https://deennetworkorguk.wordpress.com/ for free the moment you created it.

  You also don’t need a domain, as we provide you with a free WordPress.com subdomain to use for as long as you want.

  But if you want to use your own domain, rather than the free address we gave you, then you need to be on one of our paid plans. Even if you feel you only need the domain, you’re still required to upgrade to a plan as we don’t sell domain upgrades independently of a paid plan.
