Website address
-
I have an issue with my website address. I connected my pre owned domain name which is http://www.drannhaberman.com to my wordpress.com website. However, because I had already owned a wordpress website associated with the same domain, I recieved a less ideal website address – instead of http://www.drannhaberman.wordpress.com (which was the address used by my old website) , my new website address has been automatically set to http://www.drannhabermancom.wordpress.com. I have now already deleted my previous wordpress website (it’s ok, i never used it). But, I am still not able to change the new website address to the desired address http://www.drannhaberman.wordpress.com. The option to change the address does not seem to exist in the site settings under ‘website address’. What can I do to change my new website address?
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your custom domain https://drannhaberman.com/ is running on the Bluehost servers. there is no need to connect your domain to a wordpress.com site as the open source wordpress.org has already been installed. You must log in to your Bluehost account to get your site up and running. If you need further help, you must contact Bluehost support.

It is true that wordpress.org has already been installed. But I would like to use wordpress.com instead. So I do need to connect my domain.

Hi there,
I can see you have started the process of connecting https://drannhaberman.com/ to your WordPress.com account here: https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/drannhabermancom.wordpress.com
When the connection is complete you will be able to use that domain as the address of your site here to replace the “wordress.com” address it has now. We’re all set and ready to make the connection, but there are also a few changes you will need to make on Bluehost, in your domain control panel there.
Specifically you will need to access your domain control panel (at Bluehost) and change your domain name server (NS) addresses from
ns1.bluehost.com ns2.bluehost.comTo
ns1.wordpress.com nS2.wordpress.com nS3.wordpress.comOnce that change is saved, allow a few hours for the settings to “take effect” and then you can set it to be the address of your WordPress.com site.
If you are not sure how to make those changes you can contact Bluehost support for assistance in adding our domain name server (NS) addresses as mentioned above.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
