Website and Blog

Hi-just started a blog with word press but would really love a website, I’m not very savy with this technology but I’m a photographer and would like a site to showcase folio. Do I need a separate site etc. And how does it work alongside the blog, I assume a blog is used mainly for updates and forums etc.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A blog IS a web site – many themes here that are just to show photos

do what I do – I just tell folks I have a web site and let it go at that –

a “blog” is a bit specialized IN THE LOOKS only – make many Posts (they are easier to sort) – CNN uses WordPress to drive much of their web site

Hi again-I was on word press really to make a website, but it kept directing me to creating a blog. So it’s possible to have a traditional type website with a link to the blog? I hope this makes sense.
    Thanks heaps

A blog IS a web site

do a bit of search engine work photography etc & “wordpress.com” – you will find thousands of “blogs” that work just fine as a “web site” – you are getting hung up on the terms

Yeah I think you’re right, but I’d like to create pages of images from different categories that can scroll across the page and also open from thumbnails as well, is that possible?

Please read what I posted above.

    Homepage

different themes look different – some have thumbnails for the front and your click on a thumbnail to go to a Post that has a collection of images if you want

look for themes under photo or photography as a sort
