Website and Email Question
-
Hello, I’m considering switching domain, hosting and email providers but have a couple of questions that I cant seem to find answers to.
-Does WordPress offer Exchange Server for email? I need one that can work with email and calendar on multiple devices. The only way I know to do that is with an Exchange server (IMAP doesn’t support this) but it doesn’t look like WordPress supports Exchange. Hoping I’m mistaken.
-Does WordPress offer a ‘chat now’ plugin for their website templates? I want that feature on my site, especially the mobile version to whare I can instantly talk to potential clients.BTW this is a Real Estate company if that matters. And I’m probably going to use the small business package to start with.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hello there,
Happy to help you with this.

Email would be an additional purchase. This guide here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-email/ explains how this can be added.
Have you already purchased email hosting out of curiosity?

This can be achieved via the use of a plugin, like those seen here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/chat/
You would need the business plan in order to run a plugin on the site.
I hope this helps so far.

Thank you so much for the reply. The chat app helps, thank you. But the email link still doesn’t say if exchange is an option or not. So forgive me but I’m still confused to whether I can do this or not. Yes I currently have hosting an email service with another company but I’m very frustrated with them so I’m considering moving everything I have over to wordpress. But exchange service is very important to me for email and calendar access to sync across all my devices. I will also need this for future employees. So I want a good solid system that works.

Hi, our email hosting solution doesn’t offer an Exchange Server. However, you can get that directly from Microsoft (Exchange Online) or a third-party provider and connect it to your domain.
If you have any other questions, just let me know, and I’ll be happy to help.
