  I recently bought a domain name form domain.com and good for 5 years. I need a website and hosting. How can I start. Build a website and host? Where?

  WordPress.com is a hosting provider, so you could make your site with us. Go to https://wordpress.com/start/site/ and follow the steps to create a new site – no software installation required, as we handle that for you. On the domains step, select the option to use a domain you already own and pick the domain mapping option. That will allow you to connect the domain to us.

  Note that using your own domain on WordPress.com requires one of our upgrade plans.

  Or if you prefer to use the open source version of WordPress at another host, you’ll need to create an account and buy a hosting plan at the host you choose. Then follow their process for installing the open source WordPress software and connecting your domain to their servers.
