It appears that my role on the website is limited, messages such as “given your role and editor must approve of this blog post” appear. I would like full access and permission to be granted to my account.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
Hi –
That permission will come from the site owner or Administrator. We are unable to grant that access.
-
Liz,
I am the owner of Lush Wine & Spirits, I have been since we opened in 2005.
I seem to be having some issues with full access to my blog.

This is the support forum for sites hosted at WordPress.com such as https://lushwine.wordpress.com/ If your other site is lushwineandspirits.com then it isn’t hosted here and staff have no access to it. If that site is using the WordPress.org software the correct support forum is at:
https://wordpress.org/support/ -
we have a blog hosted on wordpress but my account seems to be missing administrative privliges

No problem, could you send a link to that blog so we can point you in the right direction? It will start with https://

Hi there,
The
mitcheinhornaccount you’re using to post here is only a contributor on that site. That site belongs to the account
lushwine, so you’ll need to be logged in as that account to have full access. If you don’t remember your login details for that account, you can see our recovery options here:
-
-
@mitcheinhorn, we can’t divulge the email address for privacy reasons, but you can log in as
lushwine. If you don’t know the password, you can try resetting the password, and the correct email address should get a password reset link. -
How many time do I have to request a link to update the password for LushWine before you actually send me a link?
-
Uh oh, it looks like we *have* been sending password rest links, but the email address associated with that account is having trouble. Our password link emails have been bouncing back with this:
Invalid Mailprotector recipient
Can you contact your email provider and tell them we’ve been getting that bounce message? If they are willing to help, they will probably have you request one more password reset link while they watch the email logs, so they can see our attempt to send the email.
-
as you requested I have checked with the email hosting company they do not have any bounced email in the log to wordpress.
Instead of not helping me get this resolved perhaps you could be a little more helpful.
1) what is the domain that you are sending the email to?
2) which former employee are you sending the email toEither pieces of information would help in getting my new writer logged in “my company’s” blog.
Should this process really take multiple days and dozens of email?
-
@mitcheinhorn we aren’t supposed to reveal email addresses here. But I can confirm it’s going to your company, which is why I suggested checking with the email administrator. Did you give them the error we sent?
The mail provider should be able to see it if you will request a password reset while they are actively tailing the log. They would likely have trouble finding one that had bounced hours earlier, though, since log files tend to be quite large.
-
I did exactly as you requested, they monitored the server on that domain while a requested the password reset. No bounced email.
-
In that case, the account recovery process linked to above is the only other option. Once you verify your ownership of the account via another method, we can update the email address to one that is working so that you can receive the password reset link and regain access.
-
-
You can see the information we accept for ownership verification besides the email address on the account here:
That page also links to the form where you can then submit your information to start the recovery process.
-
that process does not seem to work
here is the only email I found in the archive
[redacted]What document would you like to prove that I am the owner of Lush Wine and Spirits?
