Website broken when upgrading Elementor Pro
-
My friend runs a publicly available website (WordPress v.5.8.1; Elementor and Elementor Pro).
With Elementor Pro v3.3.2 the website worked perfectly (no problems). Text and images were displayed in the browsers as desired.
In the WP Administration panel, the message was that there is a newer version of Elementor Pro (v3.4.1) and it was suggested that the update should be done.
The update of Elementor Pro (from v3.3.2 to v3.4.1) did NOT yield any problems according to the protocol. Everything seemed to be OK.
However, when the website was requested in the browsers, the image of the landing page was not displayed correctly; the background should look dark with some premium business cars displayed. When scrolling the page in the browser, it seems that some text is still available but not all text, and the text is not displayed (in a good manner) as before.
In the WP community forum I received the hint to replace the subdirectories “elementor” and “elementor-pro” in “./wp-content/plugins” by copying these subdirectories from a clean backup. I followed this advice.
In the WP admin panel of the website, version of plugin “Elementor” is v.3.4.3, whereas version of plugin “Elementor Pro” is v.3.3.2 (as before).
The readme.txt file of in ./wp-content/plugins/elementor (in the CLEAN backup) shows that the version is v3.4.3.Nevertheless the website is not displayed in a good shape (as before). I also changed the themes (pool “Twenty …”), and also emptied the caches. No success so far.
Questions:
1. What else needs to be done?
2. Changes in database? If yes: which ones?Best regards

You’re posting in the support forum for free sites hosted at WordPress.com. Here most people that see your post will have no experience of using Elementor. I think you need to return to the .org forum or approach Elementor directly

Hi there!
Can you share the link to your site? If you’re using the WordPress.org software hosted elsewhere, you’d want to either reach out to Elementor support or post on the WordPress.org community forum here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums
On this forum, we primarily help with WordPress.com sites. WordPress sites hosted elsewhere are using the WordPress.org software. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.
If you aren’t sure whether your site is WordPress.org or WordPress.com, let us know the site address and we can confirm that for you.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
And, you can find Elementor’s support at https://elementor.com/support/
