  Hello,
  I was informed by someone who is in my line of business that you can create a website on WordPress.com for free. I tried transferring my domain from GoDaddy to WordPress and it’s forcing me to choose a plan. Also, one of the main reasons I need a website is for online credit card payment. Am I reading the plans correctly that only the $45 plan allows online payment? I am a super new, super small business. I cannot afford $45 a month, let alone the entire thing being billed now. Thanks for your help!

  Hi there!

  That is correct, you can create a free site on WordPress.com, however, that plan has just the basic features and it’s great if you want to start blogging, not so much if you want to run an online business:

  There are a few ways to allow online payments on your site. If you would like to seel just a few items and receive payments via PayPal, you can check out Simple Payments:

  Recurring Payments are great if you would like to have a paid subscription for a product or service you offer:

  If what you are looking for to have a full-on online store, you will want to install WooCommerce – you can do that on plan Business:
