    I have a website on a domain, hosted by another service. It is in HTML and the hosting contract is about to run out.

    Can i build a site here in wordpress, in the free option, and then when i am ready to publish, can i move it to another service and point my domain toward it?

    Hi there,

    You can host a site with WP.com as long as it is a WordPress site. You can create a free site with us and move your content here.

    Please note your site will load with free domain like https://blackboughca.wordpress.com/. You can upgrade to a paid plan to link a custom domain.

    If you are using third-party plugins and theme and want to replicate the same setup here then the Creator plan would be better suited for you.
