website cannot be found message

I have a blog on wordpress.com with the address http://www.thekindliestgod.wordpress.com

I last wrote a post in January 2017 but today I find I cannot access the site as an admin.

I am getting a message that ‘website cannot be found’ even though I can see the website and read it as normal.

This has also happened to another wordpress blog that I have which has been inactive for a longer period. I have tried all combinations of name and passwords and requested a new password but always get that message

What do you think is happening and how can I get back onto my site?

    Kate

I can’t understand why the mess age says ‘www.thekindliestgod’ doesn’t exist – when it plainly does and I can see the blog, just not get access to write on it.

I’m taking an educated guess here. Is your SITE TITLE “thekindliestgod” whist the site ADDRESS could well be https://kgjwilson.wordpress.com/
You have this other empty site https://thekindliestgod.wordpress.com. If you can’t find the other site by clicking My Sites and “switch site” then you must have another account/log in details.

    Thank you for replying.
My site address is kgjwilson and yes the title is thekindliestgod. I have tried every which was of using these with passwords but nothing works. It used to work and I had it on my Toolbar and was always able to enter automatically.

I have three wordpress.com blogs. One is working normally but it is defunct and I dont use it. The other two have the same issue – I cant enter as admin and the message I get is that the blogs don’t exist even though I know they do. I can see them!

In frustration and after receiving no replies here I decided to set up a new thekindliestgod blog which is the one you saw that was empty.

Still hoping for a solution but in the meantime I need somewhere to write so I am shifting to the new one.

    best wishes

  • Hi Kate,

Sorry to hear that you’ve lost access to your WordPress.com account.

If you still have access to the email connected to the account, you can enter that email address in the password recovery tool:

    https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If that doesn’t work, in order to regain access to a WordPress.com account, you need to fill the Account recovery form:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

If you want to learn more about the account recovery process you can read this document:
