Website can't be backed up
-
I can’t back up my website, when I try to downnload the content through an export, it just lags out completely. So, I try it with the posts and other options and it still doesn’t download anything.
Is there anyway wordpress could create a .xml file containing all content for me to download? Or do I have to purchase a feature to back it up, I’d just like to be rest assured that my content can be backed up.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The export option usually works without issues. Depending on the content of your site it may take a little while. Try exporting using a different browser and from a different internet service. If the issue persists, it is most likely an issue for the staff to look into. That said you don’t need to worry about backups. All sites that are hosted on WordPress.com are thoroughly backed up by the staff.

Hi there,
As @simplysaru mentioned we keep very thorough backups of all sites which are hosted on WordPress.com in case of any sort of catastrophic event.
If you would like to back up your site for your own piece of mind, I would recommend doing it in stages, since you have such a large site. You can break it up in to several pieces by specifying date ranges.
If you just need a one-time backup, I would be happy to do that for you, but keep in mind that it would just be a one-time courtesy.
Let me know!

Not a problem! I have sent you an email to the address which we have on file for you with a link to the backup. You should have it waiting for you now.

Apologies for the late reply, but could you send/re-send it to (email visible only to moderators and staff)? I haven’t received it yet

I just verified and that’s the same email address that we have on file. I emailed you again. Make sure that you check your Spam and Social Media folders as messages from us can sometimes end up in there.
