There is no domain mapping upgrade for nowyourethinkin.com. If you would like to use this domain to map to from an underlying .wordpress.com blog URL you will first need to set up domain mapping.
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. Domain mapping of an existing domain URL that you already own and purchased elsewhere is not done free of charge. You will have to renew the domain name purchase where you made it and the domain mapping purchase here every year.
Mapping an existing domain costs $13. annually and a domain name purchase and domain mapping are included in the Premium ujpgrade bundle.
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub-domain blog to map from and it does not matter what that underlying .wordpress.com URL is. It does not have to match the domain URL.
If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
It can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Also, I started this blog back in 2012 and I don’t pay a yearly fee for the mapping. Did I pay for several years in advance, or is a fee for the mapping a newer thing.
Thanks!

It is not now nor has it ever been possible to purchase more than one year of domain mapping here at WordPress.COM and this not new.

nowyourethinkin.com is registered with GoDaddy and your name servers are also pointed there. That data, coupled with the fact that you’ve never paid for Domain Mapping leads me to believe you have a WordPress site hosted at GoDaddy. If you contact customer support there, they should be able to help you figure out what happened.

I confirmed with GoDaddy that it is not hosted with them. Is there a way to re-establish my wordpress blog with nowyourethinkin.com? And beyond that, transfer the blog to the new site purposepassionandperspective.com? I realize that I would surely need to pay for the domain mapping, but it would be well worth it to get this fixed.
Please advise. Thanks!!!

Both of your domains purposepassionandperspective.com and nowyourethinkin.com are registered with GoDaddy and point to GoDaddy servers. In order to move that content to WordPress.com, you first need to get access to the host server and export the content. Then you can create a WordPress.com site and import the content.
Once that’s done, we can point your domain names to the content hosted here.
Let me know when you have the Export file from your current host and I’ll be happy to help you with the next step.
