  • Hi there, I’ll answer your questions in batches.

    • Remove Pintrest, Vimeo from site completely

    You can remove elements from your social media widget by editing the widget and removing any elemtns you don’t want to be there. Open your Customizer‘s Widgets panel and click the Social Media Icons widget to open it. Remove anything you have in the fields for Vimeo (looks blank to me at the moment) and Pinterest (there’s a # symbol).

  • Remove “Print” from the homepage

    I don’t see “Print” on the homepage, but I do see a “Print” button below your single posts, like:
    https://dyn-it.com.au/2016/10/05/website-development/

    To remove it, follow these steps:

    – Head to the Sharing panel under My Sites
    – Click “Sharing Buttons”
    – Click “Edit Buttons”
    – Click the Print button to remove it
    – Click “Save Changes”

    Add Social Share Buttons

  • Remove WordPress “Like” on the “about us” page

    You can turn off Likes on that page by opening that page in the editor and in the Sharing panel, un-checking the box next to “Show Likes”:

    Edit Page DYN IT Solutions WordPress com

  • Make all call to action buttons the same width

    Something like this should do it. You can adjust the width as you like.

    .hero-content .button {
      width: 200px;
    }
  • Make options appear when mouse waves over headings.. eg;
    Contact Us V
    Enquire now
    Get a Quote
    Etc…..

    Could you show me an example of what you mean for this one? I’m not sure what you’re after. If I can see an example l should be able to tell you if it’s possible with CSS.

  • • Remove red lining from bottom of image on homepage

    This is a little tricky. If you just make the background white in that area, you still see a grey strip. To remove the grey, you need to override a gradient filter over the header image, which requires a bit of hacky CSS that repeats the image path and uses !important, which we generally try to avoid.

    .header-bg {
      background-image: linear-gradient(rgba(0, 0, 0, 0), rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)), url("https://dynitcomau.files.wordpress.com/2016/07/manhattan-407703.jpg?w=2560&h=1226&crop=1") !important;
      background-color: #fff;
    }
  • • Fix Mobile call to action button layout

    You can learn more about using media queries that target certain screen sizes here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css-media-queries/

    Media Queries for Standard Devices

    http://webdesignerwall.com/tutorials/responsive-design-with-css3-media-queries

    Media queries are a simple concept but powerful in practice, and can take some experimentation and testing to get right.

    Try experimenting with them to get the effect you’re looking for. Keep in mind that the theme is designed for just one or two call-to-action buttons in the header area.

  • • Booking online – device type – have them set out by 2’s eg;
     Desktop > Laptop
     Tablet > Networking
     Other

    Could you provide more detail about this item? I’m not clear what you’re trying to do there.

    If you have any new questions, please start a new thread. Thanks!

    i want the layout on my contact form to be placed by 2’s and not 1 by 1 going vertical.. does this make more sense? only for the section of Device

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

    i mean it as when you hover over “Contact Us” i want to ad sub categories under that eg; enquire now etc. a site for example is http://www.footytips.com.au/home/

    Thank you for clarifying!

    You can add a sub menu to a parent menu item, like “Contact Us,” by first navigating to My Site in the top left of WordPress.com and selecting Menus from the left hand sidebar:

    https://wordpress.com/menus/dyn-it.com.au

    From the above page, select the + icon next to the menu item you’d like to add a sub menu beneath. Next, select “Add menu item to children” and add any menu item of your choice.

    We have further information on creating menus, including a handy video walkthrough, here:

    Menus

    Let me know if that helps out or if you have any questions.

    Can you point us to the specific page you’re trying to change? I found the following contact form on your page but am not certain it’s the one you’re trying to change, as it doesn’t mention “Device”:

    https://dyn-it.com.au/contact/enquire-now/

    Let me know if the above form is the one you’re trying to split up into two columns.

    Thanks!

    how can i add a google map interactive section on the contact us page

    Thank you for the link!

    Can you try adding the following custom CSS via the CSS panel of the WordPress.com Customizer?

    .page-id-72 .contact-form div {
        width: 50%;
        float: left;
    }

    The above will reduce the width of each of the fields in your contact form from 100% to 50%, so that they then display in two sets of columns.

    i loose the drop down option on menu “Contact” whilst i am on th “Enquire Now” page…. why is this?

    I’m not able to replicate this issue. Can you please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies then see if it continues?

    The custom CSS needs to by added via the CSS panel of the WordPress.com Customizer.

    To get to the Customizer: Navigate to My Site in the top left of WordPress.com and then choose the option to Customize from the left hand sidebar. You can select CSS from there. Enter the provided snippet under the introductory text of the resulting editor.
