Website content has gone and I cant access /wp-admin
-
I volunteer for a Not For Profit helping Women and their Families through Post Natal Depression.
They recently re-branded and asked me (because I’m the most technically proficient) to update the website.
After gaining access through /wp-admin, I changed the domain name (following instructions in forums) to the new address.
I now have no website at the new domain, the old domain redirects to the new one and using /wp-admin on either has no effect.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello,
it would be helpful if you provided the website URL, preferably the old one you changed, as well.
But according to what you shared, you are using the self-hosted version of the WordPress, and under the Settings you changed the domain in order to change the domain of the website.
The website domain change is not the one click process.
First what you will need to do bring back the old domain via your website database, here is the article with the instructions:

Thank you for your reply Skipiczeljko
The urls are:
pndnelson.org.nz (Old)
perinatalsupportnelson.org.nz (New)The articles look like what I need however I don’t have any login details for cPanel.
It looks like I’ll have to track down the person that set the site up.
Thank you again for your help.

Hey duncanegray,
Your website is using the standalone WordPress software and hosted on SyraHost.
We’re only able to help with the websites hosted on WordPress.com.
Please either contact your web hosting customer support or submit your query to WordPress.org forums.
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/To do so, you need to create an account on WordPress.org.
https://login.wordpress.org/registerWordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different platforms. To understand more, please read this.
