website content missing

  • Unknown's avatar

I have not used my website for a while and the original domain (peachpapercuts.com) has expired.

I have purchased a new domain peachandkind.com and the hosting company has linked it (as far as I can tell). I can preview the site through the hosting site.

I can’t however see any content on my wordpress.com account – it says that I have 9 pages etc but none of them are showing, same for posts and comments and plugins. I have updated all plugins through hosting and they show in recent jetpack activity but not in the plugins section.

I’ve obviously connected something wrong but I’m at a complete loss now!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host peachpapercuts.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

To clarify, the Jetpack plugins adds features to your self-hosted WordPress site (E.G. sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.) that we pre-install on our WordPress.com managed hosting. However, we do not have backups or historical data for that site. The Jetpack plugin does provide a connection to our WordPress.com service, but does not include backup data by default.

To restore the previous contents of your site you will need to contact your host directly, and ask if they have backups on their end that they can use.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
