Website Crashed [Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write contex… Line 102]

    My website has crashed with the following error below. What can I do to resolve this and is there someone I can contact at WordPress to help me solve this. I don’t have any coding experience and need my website up for my business so I would like to get it fixed as soon as possible.

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home3/bcdrury5/public_html/overcominggraduation.com/wp-content/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/ihaf.php on line 102

    Aloha bcdrury5, It looks like you are working with a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version supported here.

    Learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    I would recommend searching on the WordPress.org support forums for similar issues. If you cannot find anything that works, you can start your own thread. The forums are completely separate from each other, so you will need to register an account there if you haven’t done so already.

    Hey Geoffrey,

    This site is a fully hosted WordPress.com site that I have been operating for over two years.

    It is not a free blog from WordPress.org.

    That being said is there any way I can quickly repair I think and get it back up and running?

    Hey Geoffrey,

    I apologize for the confusion. The site that is referenced in my original post is incorrect, the actual website I need help with is OvercomingGraduation.com.

    Findingyoursilverlining.com is an old site I used to write on years ago.

    If you visit OvercomingGraduation.com you will be brought to a page with this error:

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home3/bcdrury5/public_html/overcominggraduation.com/wp-content/plugins/insert-headers-and-footers/ihaf.php on line 102

    Can you assist with helping me understand what needs to be done to resolve this?

    According to the whois information, it looks like OvercomingGraduation.com may be hosted at HostGator. Is that correct? If so, that is considered the self-hosted version of WordPress supported at WordPress.org:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

    The good thing is that is an error you should have no trouble finding/getting support with there. I hope that helps.

    OvercomingGraduation.com is not hosted here, but at Hostgator.

    Looking at the error message, the problem seems to be with your Insert Headers and Footer plugin. I would suggest connecting to your site via FTP and removing or renaming that plugin’s directory.

    If you need further help, please post in the WordPress.org forums as mentioned above, or contact your web host for assistance.
