Website deletion
-
I wrote with a question regarding deleting a website back in June. ‘I am the secretary for the Northwest church of Christ in Regina, SK. We have recently created a new WordPress website which we love. However, the church has an old website that we would like to have deleted but the gentleman who maintained the former site has left our congregation and we have been unable to locate him. No one knows the password. How can I go about having a dormant site deleted?’
I was advised that the original owner had to send in a message from the e-mail on file for this account to have the website deleted. I have found the previous owner. However, Greg has a home business and uses multiple e-mail addresses and has no idea which one he used to create the WordPress site for the church.
What I need to know is where do I go from here? Can you look back at the activity log for the site and see that nothing has been done with it since 2010 or there about? Can Greg write a letter explaining that he is no longer a member at Northwest and has no idea of the e-mail address used to create the site or the password? I’m frustrated because our new WordPress site: http://www.northwestcofc.ca is not pulling up when the church is googled. Only the old obsolete site that I can’t delete. Please advise.
Thank you,

HI LaVonna,
Can you please have Greg submit the Account Recovery form and provide us with a transaction ID, as I see that their WordPress.com account had made some purchases in the past. Here’s the form:
