There is a template ‘about’ post that keeps appearing just after my home page when I scroll down. I’ve deleted this several times, but it never goes away. It doesn’t show up in the menu as a page, or in the list of posts, but it’s always there on the website. How do I get rid of it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can delete any page at
http://earthandtheroad.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page
Hover over the page title and click the Trash link. -
That is how I’d normally think to delete a post, but there’s an “about” page on my site (link below) that doesn’t appear in that list. How do I delete that?
-
The instructions I provided were for deleting a page, not a post. Volunteers cannot view private blogs and we Volunteers do not request access to them. Staff can view private blog content and this thread is tagged in the sidebar with modlook for their assistance. Please be patient while waiting for a response and subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

I am not seeing any “about” page. Can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Here are some screenshot instructions if you are not familiar with the process:
I find http://snag.gy/ to be very useful for sharing screenshots. You can also upload the screenshot to your site’s media library. I will be able to see it there.
-
rootjosh, I just uploaded a screenshot to my media library. It shows up on the homepage when I scroll down, just before the “network by event” page.
The only thing I want on the homepage is the front material, not other posts below it.
Thanks so much for your help.

I’ve also tried the “edit this page” link and hitting ‘delete’ but it always gives me a message that the page has already been deleted and the link is not valid.
I logged out of my admin account and viewed it from the outside to make sure it wasn’t just a privately viewed template aspect, but it still showed up, just without the “edit this page” link.

rootjosh–that is perfect! Thank you!
One other question–is there a way for me to keep the “network by event” page from appearing below the homepage material?
-
When you say “homepage material” do you mean the paragraph that says:
Welcome to Think Tank Connect! The purpose of this site is to link all of us who have participated in international weekenders at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.
etc?
-
Yes, that is what I was referring to. If you keep scrolling down it shows the page material for “network by event” as well, and I’d prefer to have only the front page material show.
-
You adjust that content my going here:
https://thinktankconnect.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php
…and looking for the “theme options” setting.
