Website Design

I represent a winery who currently has a website that is up and running.
We have just transferred our domain to a new service provider with the intention of designing a new website with WP while the older one is still live on the old providers server.

Needless to say this did not go to plan, as when I put WP on the Cpanel, it loaded the old sites info when previewing.

I will be making use of WP Business
    So my question is:
Can i edit the site on another domain/WP account and then save the files to be loaded onto the new server? Or can i design my site offline while the other is still up?
How can i do this? I want to design my new site and upload it when its ready.
I don’t want it to replace the current one until its done.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Good Morning –

These are great questions. Could you share the active site URL?

When you mention, I put WP on the Cpanel that indicates the open source WordPress.org software rather than our managed hosting environment at WordPress.com. These are 2 different versions of WordPress. I think that this is the best place for us to start — let’s make sure that you understand those differences.

Take a look at this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The major differences are outlined there. Once we’ve determined which version of WordPress is best for y’all and the project we can dive in to those other questions a bit more.
