  Does anyone have experience developing a website using the WordPress platform? We are looking to redo our site and would like to hear feedback and see live sites especially if they are ecommerce sites. Rick

  You’re probably better off asking this at wordpress.org/support where self-hosted blogs are supported. Lots of talented and experienced people there.

  This is the forum for wordpress.com blogs which are non-commercial and limited in terms of javascript, etc.
