website disappeared

I was fiddling with word press to see how involved it would be to rebuild an existing website created with the original Yahoo Site Builder. I never entered ‘.com’ and never published anything, BUT, the website is GONE and there is a message about it being a wordpress project. Is there a phone number to call wordpress????
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

We don’t offer phone support.
We offer forum support for all users on our free plan, email support for all customers with paid plans, and live chat support for all customers with Premium and higher annual paid plans: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/
Visiting https://wordpress.com/help/contact will always connect you with the highest available support option for your plan.
With that said, we’d be happy to help you here. What is the URL of the site you’re trying to access?

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Yahoo.
So, you’ll log in to it through https://www.freetobemedrumcircle.com/wp-login.php and not through us.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
With that said, if you’d like to manage your WordPress.org site through WordPress.com, that is one of the features of the Jetpack plugin: https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/

How can my deleting a site in the word press software delete my online website hosted by a different host, Verizon Small Business? Is there any way to reverse the deletion? I saw in support that there was a 30 day window to restore a deleted site.

Hi there,
You’ll need to contact Yahoo/Verizon support directly for help with this, as everything that happened, happened on their servers. They should have logs showing any recent actions taken on your server and hosting account, and hopefully they also have backups of your site(s) with them that they can restore for you.
WordPress.com is a hosting provider like Yahoo, and we have no access to their systems to check what might have happened here, so I’m afraid from our end there’s nothing we can do to help.
