Website doesn’t seem to exist anymore? Can’t login either. Help!

    Hi all,

    My website http://www.thewelcoming.org/ doesn’t recognise my login details and all the content seems to have been deleted.

    Can somebody please advise what they think might be going on here? I am absolutely gutted as this website is essential for our charity to help refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to access our free services.

    Any advice would be hugely appreciated.

    Hi Corinna,

    I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Cloudflare.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.     I cannot access my site either. carbonforlife.com It won’t come up with the url, I can’t log into WP, and can’t access it or the dashboard. It’s as if it doesn’t exist. Mine is hosted through Google and they’ve required a VM (virtual machine) update. I’ve been able to see individual posts to some degree but my site doesn’t display properly and I can’t login anymore. It’s as if WP doesn’t recognize it.

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Yahoo.

    Thank you. But when I log in, it’s the wordpress.com login–or so I thought. And I get BILLED through Google. That I know for sure.

    And yes, my domain name is through Yahoo, but I get billed through Google for the cloud usage. I’m totally confused.

    I tried logging into wordpress.org and says there’s no account with that email address. my site is with wordpress.com. I need help logging in please.

    Your site, carbonforlife.com, is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, nor is it in any way connected to any account on WordPress.com. The carbonlifeonline account you’re using to post here was created with us in 2017, and owns a free WordPress.com site, https://carbonlifeonline.wordpress.com/, but has no connection to the site at carbonforlife.com

    That site is hosted on Google Cloud, and using the open source WordPress.org software. My colleague assumed it was hosted by Yahoo as your domain is using their name servers, but I see the domain is pointed to Google Cloud’s IP address from there.

    I tried logging into wordpress.org and says there’s no account with that email address.

    You don’t need a WordPress.org account to use that software. A WordPress.org account is only used to post in the WordPress.org forums, or to contribute to the software itself, so if you’ve never done either of those things you won’t have an account there yet.

    In that case you’ll have to register an account there before you can ask in their support forums for help.

    I have the same problem. WordPress was updated a week ago and all problems started to flow in. The last three days we lost all content of the site and the ability to log in to our account. Restored the content and oeps the next day all content gone again. This appears to happen through the night. My hosting company informed me that there is a problem with some plugins. One of them is the following: plugins “themegrill-demo-importer”.
    We are restoring the site again to an older version and see if the problem pops-up again.
