  Hello,

  I am wanting to switch over my website to word press. I have a current domain but do not want to switch it over until my wordpress site is complete. How can I move the domain to wordpress without it messing up my current site?

  To clarify, you wish to set up a replacement site here first (in private) and then when you are ready you want to “launch” it on the final address, to replace the site that is there now?

  If so you can do that, no problem. First you can start a new site here, and when you do, you can just choose to use the “wordpress.com” address we assign for free.

  This will allow you to set up your new site in private. When you are ready to move it to the final address and launch it, you can add one of our upgrade plans here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  All our plans from Personal to eCommerce include the ability to use a custom address instead of the “wordpress.com” address, and you can connect your domain at that time to replace your current site with the new site you’ve created on WordPress.com.
