Website Domain Missing
-
Hello, I have been transferred ownership of a site by my client with the intent of transferring their domain, maxliboiron.com, from WordPress.com to new hosting. However, the client no longer sees the domain in their Domains tab in the WordPress dashboard, nor do I see it in mine. An nslookup and whois searches show the domain is still active and connected with WordPress.com, but neither of us have access to it. My client was the original registrant of the domain and used it for this website.
Is WP staff able to help locate the domain? Also, my client noted that their site had recently been hacked, which is why the site is set to private right now.
Thank you!
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No

Although the nameservers point to WordPress.com the domain was registered with Tucows so the owner of the domain needs to log in with them to transfer it somewhere else.

According to my client they registered the domain through WordPress.com when they set up the site. Unfortunately they don’t have accounts anywhere else where the domain would be…

Hi @ltyrer1,
Thanks for the reply!
I can see how this situation is frustrating, especially with the domain access unclear.Since the domain was registered through a third-party registrar, your client will need to contact that registrar directly.
The Site Profiler tool shows that the current registrar is Tucows:
