Website Down
-
My company website is gone, we’re an events based company and as such have been closed for the last 18 months, almost completely. I’ve not checked on the website until today, it just does not exist. My issue now is there seems to be no way of directly contacting anyone at WordPress to resolve this, can anyone advise?

Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

Hi, yes it is – http://www.cityandmoonbackline.co.uk
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there,
The Business Plan on your site expired in July last year, and along with it the domain connection upgrade that had connected the domain to your site was also removed.
Go to Upgrades ->Plans and buy a new Business Plan there. That will allow you to reactivate the theme and plugins you had active on your site. Then you’ll also be able to add a new domain connection upgrade to reconnect the domain.
Your domain itself is registered at GoDaddy.com, but it’s still registered and pointed to us at the moment, so once you add a new domain connection upgrade, that should work again.
However, it looks like your domain will expire on 16 January, so make sure you also renew that over on GoDaddy’s end, else the site will go offline again once that expires.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I have one more question if you have time, we had a third party build this site for us so I apologise if this is a stupid question – Once I buy the business plan and reactivate the site will the site be as it was when it went down or will the content need to be rebuilt?
Many thanks

Your content is still there. You should be able to access it at the staging domain, cityandmoon.wpcomstaging.com. But content that’s added via a plugin might not be visible, as all the plugins are currently disabled.
Once the Business Plan is active again, the plugins should also be reactivated, or else you can do so manually, and in most cases I’d expect that to restore the content added by those plugins as well.
However, you should also be able to restore a backup of the site from before the plan expired:

For help with that, you can contact our live chat support team directly via https://wordpress.com/help/contact once your plan is active again.
