Website down

  When we first created our website it was http://www.horseridingjordan.wordpress.com, then we changed it to http://www.horseridingjordan.com paying for the domain, now the .com website is down, all I see under ‘My Sites’ is the worpress.com website. I assume we need to pay again for the .com domain but I have never received a notification nor can I find info on how to pay and get the .com website back online….
  Any help would be greatly appreciated !

  horseridingjordan.com is valid through 2017-09-27 according to
  https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=horseridingjordan.com

  It appears to be hosted over at Hostnet, which is not WordPress.com, which would explain why it is not listed under My Sites in your WordPress account. If you did indeed move the site to Hostnet, then the trouble is with them and not WordPress.

  If it has been a significant amount of time since the domain expired, it is possible that someone else acquired it and is now using it. Or is there a simple typo in the domain…

  Hi Dave,
  Thanks so much, I will pass on the message to my friend who built the website and who probably also moved it then.
  If you ever have the chance you should definitely visit Petra, it’s an amazing site. I’ve moved here 13 years ago, I live about 3 minutes from the entrance and even now I keep discovering new things and trails every time I go in.
  I’m lucky I still have all my “boys”, my oldest one is about 22 now so I hope he stays with us for many more years :-)

  When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

  I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.

  If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

  If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

  Thanks folks. As @dave2swords said that domain is active but hosted elsewhere. You’ll want to get in touch with your host.

  Or if you want to host the site with us now, first, choose a plan here:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then use the domain credit at https://wordpress.com/domains

  Finally, if your domain is registered elsewhere, be sure to update its settings to point to our servers, and wait a few hours for that to take effect.
