website-down-for-maintenance in URL
-
A few weeks ago, WordPress started adding /website-down-for-maintenance/ in the middle of any URL for a new page or any page I edited. I cannot edit the URL and can find no way of stopping this. The page appears OK when published, except for the automatically added text in the URL, which would confuse people. How do I stop this?
e.g. https://stjamesthelesspenicuik.org/website-down-for-maintenance/this-months-notices-2/The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi andylongmore, I think I see the issue. Go here:
https://stjamesthelesspenicuik.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=pageClick “Quick Edit” on your Welcome page. Under Slug you’ll see your “down for maintenance” message.
Try changing that to Welcome or something else along those lines.
Because you’ve got several pages as “children” of this page, they’re adding that Slug that you must have had at one point.
Let us know if that clears it up!
