Website Downgraded to free with no notice and contrary to support response

    According to a support engineer, once I requested a refund for an auto-renew subscription – that I had toggled off – my website was to remain active for another 30 days. I requested the refund and my website was immediately downgraded to a free account. This is causing me major issues.

    All I wanted was to turn off auto-renew and have a month to review my paid plan options. WordPress.com instead cancelled my plan and immediately downgraded my website without any notification.

    What is the remedy here?
