Website editing access issue

    For the past 2 months we have been unable to access the editing pages on WordPress and this error keeps popping up every time I click on a page to edit on the site. This is the error message:
    403: Forbidden
    This error message is generated when the web server is trying to access a file that does not exist or has been configured incorrectly
    Troubleshooting suggestions:
    Ensure that you have a valid home page defined in your website directory (example: /htdocs/index.html, /htdocs/index.php). On Unix, this is case sensitive and must be all lower case.
    In your Account Manager, under Hosting Tools, click to .Reset File Permissions..

    We can’t help you as your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform, https://digital.com/best-web-hosting/who-is/#search=philmorecreamery.com. You must contact your hosting support to solve this problem.

    Hey there @adminphilmore

    Unfortunately, your site beachcinity.com is not hosted here on WordPress.com and it seems to use a self-hosted installation of WordPress.org hosted elsewhere. Because of the differences between WordPress.com vs WordPress.org they won’t be able to help you here, but I can point you in the right direction.

    A 403 error normally happens when the server thinks you don’t have the permissions to access a page, in this case, your admin dashboard.

    You can read more about it from this guide I found, which also contains the reasons that could lead to this happening and some options on how to fix it.

    Most of the fixes require an SFTP connection so it needs a bit of expertise on your part.
    I would highly recommend first contacting your hosting provider and asking them to fix this problem for you.
    And if you decide to apply these fixes on your own, don’t forget to backup first!
