Website Editing Issue – “Edit Site” Button Redirects to Wrong Page
-
Message:
Dear Support Team,
I’m experiencing a technical issue with my WordPress website and would appreciate your assistance.
Problem Description:
When I click the “Edit Site” button, I’m redirected to a contact page template instead of my actual homepage content.- Expected behavior: Should edit my main homepage content (weight loss program page)
- Actual behavior: Redirects to a contact form page in English
- Screenshot 1: Shows the correct homepage content I want to edit
- Screenshot 2: Shows the wrong page I’m taken to when clicking “Edit Site”
What I’ve tried:
- Switching admin language to English
- Checking all pages in Pages → All Pages
- Verifying Reading Settings
- The homepage content doesn’t appear in the standard page editor
Request:
Could you please help me:- Identify why the “Edit Site” button redirects to the wrong template
- Access the actual homepage content for editing
- Resolve this routing issue

Hi there! 👋
Thanks for the detailed description and for sharing everything you’ve already tried, that really helps narrow things down.
From the initial screenshot you shared on another thread, it looks like your dashboard layout is broken, which can sometimes point to a plugin conflict or a hosting-related issue.
I also checked your site at https://gaevfit.ru, and while it does use the WordPress software, it’s actually not hosted with WordPress.com. You can see that confirmed here: https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/https://gaevfit.ruYour hosting provider appears to be Timeweb (https://timeweb.com/). Since your site isn’t hosted with us, we’re limited in how much we can assist directly with troubleshooting.
That said, you can try a plugin conflict test, this often resolves issues like unexpected redirects in the dashboard. To do that:
- Temporarily disable all plugins on your site.
- Check if the “Edit Site” button works correctly.
- If it does, re-enable plugins one by one until the problem reappears, that will identify the cause.
You can also follow this helpful guide for more troubleshooting steps:

If the problem persists after testing, it may be best to reach out directly to Timeweb Support, as they can check for any configuration issues on the hosting side.
