  decided it’s above my pay grade, I’ve wiped the site and will get someone who is familiar with WordPress to help me. Thanks anyway

  Just for the future, if you are talking about a site using the standalone WordPress (org) software, please post to the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support If you don’t have a username there, you can register one on that page.
