Website has disappeared!
-
I just cancelled a business plan with wordpress. In that time I was updating my site and then after I logged out, and back in, the website vanished!
it was under the domain http://www.juicyflights.com
Does anyone know what may have happened?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The footer is still there, on the homepage but the content is missing. I am unable to find this in my account as the website was also cloned and sent to wordpress.org with hostgator.

juicyflights,

Ok, thanks.
There seems to have been some type of error somewhere which has blocked me from accessing the pages on juicyflights.com for edit and it takes me direct to the hostgator wordpress installation instead. Prior to this, I had the juicyflights.com on wordpress separately. Could it be mapping?
-
It could be the mapping. The name servers for http://www.juicyflights.com still point to WordPress.com:
Hosting provider:
WHOIS: Click Here
IP Address: 209.15.20.218
Name Servers:
ns3.wordpress.com
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com -
Thats what I need it to do, juicyflights.com I’d like to stay on wordpress and the clone site has its own domain. The transfer didnt go as planned as I used elementor as a page builder and the formatting didnt transfer so I need this original site juicyflights.com on wordpress.com to keep as a working backup while i figure out the transfer.
The issue is, it still somewhat works when you go to the domain, but I can’t find those same pages on wordpress.com!

Hi
If I had to make an educated guess, I believe when you downgraded from your Business plan you lost access to your Elementor plugin, correct?
Since most page builders use shortcodes to store information in your database, the loss of the plugin would eliminate your page build. Can you look at the page and find any shortcodes in the page editor?
I wager that if you went back to the business plan and reactivated the plugin, the site would perhaps look as expected.
Can you check this for me?
-
Elementor is free and it was still there when I downgraded. The only issue was once I actually logged out of wordpress.com and back in again, it seems to automatically go straight to my new hosted wordpress.org installation on hostgator and I do not get the option to view my old setup which was there when both existed before logging out today.

Hi Juicyflights,
I think there may be some confusion with the responses and i believe @synora10 may be on to something. from what I understand:
- You had a WordPress.com hosted site with a business plan.
- You downgraded to a basic plan
- you cloned http://www.juicyflights.com to a self hosted site
- You also have the site on WordPress.com since juicyflights.wordpress.com is reserved but not in use as you downgraded your plan.
We cannot do to much to help here in the .com forum but the .org forums may be able to assist you in sorting this out.
As for the plugin, although the plugin may still show up on the admin panel the use and functionality of the plugin will be disabled on the basic plan. If there was any custom CSS or other features supported by the business plan that are not included in they will be removed or deactivated.
The core of the issue though seems to be the domain mapping. As changes can take up to 72 hours you may be in this state until name servers are updated.

I wanted to speak with someone from wordpress before buying a premium account again and going through all of that. It seems the contact page is blank and doesn’t show up for chat. Any suggestions?
-
I think I am stuck in Limbo now as I cannot upgrade (as I do not wish to do so because it will add on extra’s which are non refundable like the domain).
And if I do not, then I cannot access support with a free plan.
I am unable to find my original site as it won’t let me access it anymore although it still appears when you go to the domain. It is clear that the business plan was required because it allowed my OceanWP third party theme to be used as normal plans do not.
Can anyone let me know how I can get access to WordPress support for a way to fix this?

The chat function is available for those with a Personal Plan or higher. As far as the contact page being blank, you can check to make sure third-party cookies are enabled at https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/. Also, make sure you’re allowing scripts to run.
As stated earlier, the modlook tag has been applied to this thread. There may be a delay in staff responding to you as they are traveling home from their annual meet-up. Rest assured that a staff member will reply to this thread. :)
