Website Header Logo is always stretched since last update and I can’t change it
-
Hi all,
Ever since the last update recently, for some reason the logo on my header of the website has been stretched and does NOT look professional, this only seems to occur on the laptop/desktop version but not the others (e.g. mobile). I cannot seem to change it back. Please help, if it is easier I can share my screen. This wasn’t a problem before at all, why is it a problem now though? What has changed, it’s only ocurred since the update..
I’ve made other changes to the website since realising the issue with the logo so i don’t want to restore the whole website and lose my progress elsewhere. I saw that it had a “suggested image dimensions” but when I changed the logo to a new image with the suggested dimensions I had the same issue..
I’ve been told to pay for a higher WordPress premium package to fix this problem (~$60 AUD/month extra) which I think is absurd as I did NOT create this problem, WordPress did, and having me pay to fix a problem they created is completely unreasonable.
PLEASE HELP :(

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out with your concern about your WordPress site – I understand how frustrating this problem must be. However, based on your information, it seems like your WordPress site isn’t hosted on our WordPress.com managed hosting services, but is powered by the free, open-source version of WordPress on a separate hosting provider. This key distinction limits our ability to assist.
Our managed WordPress.com hosting service https://wordpress.com/hosting/ differs from other hosting options because we manage all the back-end tasks for you, from software updates to security and more. It provides a streamlined, user-friendly experience, reducing the amount of technical work required to manage your site.
Now, since your site is hosted elsewhere, we’re at a disadvantage in that we can’t directly investigate or resolve problems on it. However, if you ever consider moving your site to WordPress.com, we have an easy-to-use migration plugin that simplifies the process.
The Move to WordPress.com plugin allows you to start migrating a self-hosted WordPress site to WordPress.com directly from the self-hosted site. Prerequisites The Move to WordPress.com plugin installed on your self-hosted WordPress site. All incompatible plugins deactivated on the self-hosted site. ✅ There is no need to create a site on WordPress.com before you get starWe’d be more than happy to provide any support you need if you decide to make that transition.
If you’d prefer to stick with your current host, your best option for resolving the current issue with your logo is to ask for help in the community support forums for the open-source version of WordPress. This is the version that your current host employs for your site, so users there will be more equipped to help you navigate and resolve the issues you’re experiencing.
