website hijacked
-
My website has been hijacked and I cannot get in to the admin. Someone has changed the password and log in. I’m paying for it. How do I get it back?

Hi @rrmalin. I am sorry to hear about what you are dealing with.
What is the site you are having trouble with?
If it is hosted at wordpress.com you can try following the account recovery steps to re-gain access:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ -
I tried the WordPress password recovery. It sends a response that ends up in SPAM. The message reads: Someone has requested a password reset for the following account:
Site Name: Rosalind Malin
Username: indoxploit
So whoever has it has changed the user name. How do I recover that?

Hi there,
If you’re referring to the site rosalindmalin.com, then it is not hosted by us (WordPress.com). It is using the self-hosted version of WordPress and it is hosted by Hostgator. Therefore, you need to contact them regarding your issue.
We’re only able to provide support for WordPress websites that are hosted by us. For help with a self-hosted WordPress site you can ask over at the WordPress.org forums:

If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and the self-hosted WordPress.org you can read this article:
