Website icon and url changed to someone else’s overnight
-
Hello,
The site icon and url in my dashboard changed overnight to someone else’s site. My real site (bluebellsinbloom.wordpress.com) and it’s posts can still be accessed when I searched for it. However, if I try to click [view site] or [view post] from my dashboard, it’ll go to that someone else’s site (kreatiewekosidees.wordpress.com).
I can’t publish new posts as they will not be linked to my (real) site. Went to settings to try and change the url back, but in there, the url reflects my actual one.
Checked with all my other admins, none of them did it. I’m not changing or posting anything at the moment in case it’ll screw things up for the other person’s site.
What happened? Is it an error on WP’s side? Please help. Thank you in advance.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A site icon and url just don’t change to something else. If you have access to the backend of kreatiewekosidees.wordpress.com, it means you are or the owner or added as editor or adminstrator.

the thing is that, I don’t have any access to kreatiewekosidees.wordpress.com.
…is there any other way I can seek help? like from the wp support team? it seems more like a technical issue on their end…

update from my other account: about a couple of hours, the icon and url went back to my actual one. so, i think it’s a bug.

Thanks for that update. We’re not quite sure what happened here and since it’s now back to normal, it’s tough to troubleshoot the issue.
If you see this happen again, please let us know as soon as possible by either replying to this thread or starting a new thread and adding a
modlooktag so Staff can look into this for you. Thanks!
