I logged in to my wordpress account after not using it for over a year since I took my portfolio offline, and now it’s no where to be found in my wordpress account. I 100% did not delete my designed website, so why isnt it showing up anymore? I designed it through wordpress and is hosted through godaddy still

  • Hi there,

Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions. You can learn more about the performance and security benefits of our managed hosting here: https://wordpress.com/hosting/

Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at your current provider. As a result, we do not have access to your site and are not familiar with the source of your issue.

You definitely have the option to move your site to us so we can provide in-house help, and we offer a migration plugin that will help you move your site to our managed hosting in just a few clicks.

Unfortunately though, as it stands now, we are not able to help since it is hosted elsewhere. The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

The folks in that forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues and are in the best position to help.

    Thanks!

I’ve already connected with GoDaddy where my site is domain lives, and they also said that i needed to connect with WordPress, that they couldnt fix my issues because they only hosted the domain. I’m still unsure why all my website’s built through wordpress and the contents disappeard. Neither company seems to be able to help with this issue. I wish there was a person I could talk to.

My normal wordpress dashboard is not showing up either. It only takes me to the reader page when I log in. I think that may be an issue as well.

  • Hi @alperrydesigns,

they also said that i needed to connect with WordPress, that they couldnt fix my issues because they only hosted the domain

And we don’t host the site or the domain here. Our services at WordPress.com are separate from the free software; you won’t see your site here unless you are using our services. WordPress is free software and it’s not the same thing as our hosting services.

Can you be sure you’re logging in here?

Once you are logged in, you’d be welcome to move your site here so we can provide more support. These forums are for our free sites; you would want our Business Plan hosting. We can help you move to WordPress.com with one of these tools.
