Hello there,
I’m here to assist you, but unfortunately, without hosting your site, we don’t have access to your specific server configuration, making it challenging to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue.
To address your problem, I recommend reaching out to your hosting service directly. They have in-depth knowledge of your server environment and can provide tailored support to help identify and resolve the issue. They are well-equipped to offer specific guidance based on your unique hosting setup.
In the meantime, I’d like to introduce you to the benefits of migrating your website to WordPress.com hosting. By moving your site to WordPress.com, you’ll gain access to a reliable and user-friendly hosting platform. Our migration process ensures a smooth transition, preserving your content and minimizing downtime.
If you have a website built with WordPress on another hosting provider, generally referred to as a self-hosted WordPress.org site, and want to move it to WordPress.com, use our Import Everything option. The Import Everything option will copy your existing self-hosted WordPress site to your new WordPress.com site, including your content, media, plugins, and the theme. Prerequisites A WWordPress.com hosting offers optimized performance, advanced security features, regular backups, and a dedicated support team. Migrating to WordPress.com can provide you with a stable and secure hosting environment, allowing you to focus on growing your website and engaging with your audience.
In addition to seeking assistance from your hosting service, I also encourage you to explore the WordPress.org forum. It’s a vibrant community of experienced users and experts who generously share their knowledge and help troubleshoot various issues. By posting your question on the forum, you can tap into their collective expertise and potentially find alternative solutions or insights.
While the forum and your hosting service are valuable resources, migrating to WordPress.com hosting can offer a comprehensive solution, providing you with a reliable and optimized hosting platform for your website.
Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. If you have further questions or need assistance with migrating to WordPress.com or posting on the WordPress.org forum, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here to help you navigate the best path forward for your website.
I hope it helps.

Hi Saad,
Thank you for your fast reply. I have transferred the domain to WordPress so far and have contacted Digital Ocean regarding my problem but have not received their reply. Hopefully I will migrate the hosting to WordPress too. Thanks for letting me know.

The problem is much worse. After I transferred my website domain to WordPress and accessed my website it is completely been destroyed. The theme has reverted to the orginal and it is also not recognized as a WooCommerce website. I have lost all access to my orders as well! Please help!
-

My website is not recognized as a WooCommerce website anymore and I can’t access any of my orders, products or anything now since the website went down and the transfer was made. Does the transfer destroy my website to it’s original settings? How do I get it back to what it was before? Is all my hard work lost for good?

Hello there,
If you want to use WooCommerce, then at least you have to subscribe to the Business Plan.
Because on personal or premium plans, there is no feature to install plugins. For more, please read here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
I hope this helps.

To avoid any confusion, it’s important to understand the three different versions of “WordPress”:
- The free, open-source WordPress software that powers your website.
- WordPress.org, which is the open-source project responsible for developing the WordPress software. You can obtain the software for free and use it with your own hosting provider.
- WordPress.com, a managed hosting provider that offers the WordPress software as a service. You are currently contacting WordPress.com.
Based on your previous statement, your WooCommerce store and WordPress installation are hosted at Digital Ocean. It’s worth noting that transferring your site (which involves moving your files and WordPress installation) is different from transferring your domain to WordPress.com. It’s similar to moving from one house to another: your domain is your mailing address, and your site files are your belongings. Just setting up the domain won’t “recover” your website unless you also move the files.
I strongly recommend reaching out to your hosting provider, Digital Ocean, for assistance in bringing your site back online. This issue may be related to your domain nameservers pointing to WordPress.com instead of Digital Ocean.
Once your site is back online, if you decide to migrate your hosting to WordPress.com, you can use our migration plugin, which can be found here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/. However, please note that upgrading to the Business plan is necessary for this process.
I hope this clears up any confusion. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
