  My webmaster went on a tirade and took my website offline after changing all the passwords. What can I do?

  My website, http://www.readbroad is down. I keep getting this message: Warning: require(/home1/thegrape/public_html/wp-includes/rest-api/class-wp-rest-server.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home1/thegrape/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 223

  Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home1/thegrape/public_html/wp-includes/rest-api/class-wp-rest-server.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home1/thegrape/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 223

  As recently as last month, I was still getting messages from wordpress.com about moderating posts. Please help.

  Thanks @broadblogezine, your site is not hosted here with us. But I would guess if you’d get in touch with Hostgator they can likely restore a backup for you — and that’s most likely going to be your best bet. Sorry you’re going through this!

  If that does not work, since I have confirmed you are indeed using your own WordPress.org installation on other servers, the .org forums at https://wordpress.org/support will be your best bet. You may need to actually start with a fresh WordPress installation as it seems some files are missing or have had their permissions changed.
