Website is down – Experiencing HTTP 500 error
-
Our company is called MCKAIG EVERGREEN INC. Our website is http://www.mckaig.com
I am the primary person responsible for making website changes and I went to do that last week, made my changes, the site said to upgrade to a new version of WordPress,so I did that and now our website is down ! No one can view it. We get an HTTP 500 error.
My own interal IT team can’t get it fixed. Can WordPress please help us ? It is imperative we get this up and running. Thank You – Stacey Tomczak / McKaig Evergreen [redacted by staff] -
Hi there!
The 500 errors are usually due to plugin/theme conflicts, however, we won’t be able to help as your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
