Website is down since I tried to add a wordpress address

    The website was up and running. I bought the llibertes.com domain and tried to add llibertes.wordpress.com as an alternate address, but now it says the blog has been deleted and the whole website is down. I cannot enter my WP admin account to delete that address. What can I do?

    Hi there,

    llibertes.com is pointed to a self-hosted website using the WordPress.org software, and hosted with One.com. You can’t set a free WordPress.com address as an alternate address for that site, as it has no connection to your WordPress.com site at all.

    If you are now locked out of the dashboard due to changes you made to the domain settings on that site, you’ll need to contact one.com support to help you fix it. We have no access to your domain or to your hosting account to help you with that.

    The site, https://llibertes.wordpress.com/, used to exist on WordPress.com, but it belonged to a completely different username account, and that person deleted it. To be able to redirect traffic from a WordPress.com address to a self-hosted site, you need to both own the WordPress.com address and the WordPress.com site must still be active. Then you can add a site redirect upgrade to redirect traffic to your website.

    But as you don’t own the WordPress.com site, and as it has been deleted in any case, there is no way for you to do that.
