Website issues

My website is not displaying properly, it appeared normally last time I checked, but now when I go to look at it all of the content is gone aside from random parts/images. I tried to re-apply the theme – ‘Ryu’ – but that did not seem to work either. Is it an issue with the website or possibly with the theme design?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Many people have been dealing with site issues and staff are working diligently on solving the issue. more details can be found in this post

Be patient and hopefully staff will get you and everyone an update as soon as possible. Thanks!

since the sticky has not been updated for 17+ hours, it is easy for folks to keep asking and wondering.

A simple acknowledgement by the staff on the sticky would take less than a minute. Silence for 17 hrs, not so good.

  • Yes, I understand.

Hopefully it will not be too much longer of a wait. It is affecting quite a few bloggers apparently.

They are indeed working on it! Staff have addressed other problems during this time, but unless there is new information, there is nothing to update in the sticky thread—this is an unusual problem. I’ve been a volunteer for many years and have not seen an issue like this before. Feel free to ask, but as far as I know, the sticky post up top has the latest information and we volunteers have no other messages.

Yes, I understand the volunteers have no other information, either. It would be nice for everyone if one person on the Staff could take 60 seconds to update the sticky. 17 hours with no changes, no fix, and no status update of any kind is not really a world class customer experience.

18 hours, now, since any official comment

Yes, well until they have made any progress there is nothing to say except, “Hi! We are working on this.” which doesn’t actually mean much to anyone until there is a solution.

I don’t mean to sound harsh, but I doubt they are relaxing on a beach in Bali with cold drinks shooting the breeze about how to fix it.

Did you try kardotim’s solution for temporary which worked for some users?

Our developers are still investigating the issue as we speak. However, we do have a temporarily fix that resolved the issue for some of our users.

    Follow the steps below:

1: Go to the Customizer at ‘Appearance’ -> ‘Customize’ in your blog’s dashboard
    2: Click on CSS
3: Add the code below to the CSS editor and then click on the [Save] button.
    body { color: inherit; }

Some folks have also temporarily switched themes.

I know how much I hate it when my husband suggests alternatives to make something work when I’m just frustrated and angry that something is not working, but he’s usually right in the end…

I don’t mean to sound harsh either, but I was not suggesting they are on a beach either.

And yes, I did attempt the css fix about 10 hours ago. I reported that it did not work for me. My report was tagged for staff attention 10 hours ago.

I am using a paid-for, premium theme that I spent hours tuning to be the way I want it, so changing themes doesn’t really make sense.

I still say 60 seconds to post an update, even if there is no fix, would keep the status fresh rather than stale. It doesn’t seem like too much to ask, and would be a bit more customer-oriented.
