Website issues after a recent update?

Ok, so I am with Bluehost and you guys. I heavily use Elementor to design my site and pages. I am a photographer so I am constantly updating my site. I should also note that I use Oceans WP as a starter template. After a recent update I am having one major issue that I can not figure out. I thought it was Elementor but we have ruled that out. Here is my issue. Within my pages I use a button or link that I use the media library link to a zip file to allow clients to auto download said .zip file. It worked like a charm for the past 2 years but now is not working. I tried to build the same link and or button on the wordpress side of things and by pass Elementor but it does not work there either. I have deactivated all plugins to see if I could make it work. I have rolled back the PHP and the Elementor to a previous version and nothing seems to get it back to working. The people at Bluehost said I may need to roll back to a previous working version of WP? Is that possible of can we see if it is a problem on the WP side of things?

  • Hi @pncphotog1,

I’m afraid that we can’t help directly because your paulncarterphotography.com site is not hosted with WordPress.com. In turn, we’re unable to take a closer look at your site.

It looks like your host uses the open-source WordPress.org software, which differs from the managed hosting offered on WordPress.com. The good news though is that help is available in the WordPress.org forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

Otherwise, you may want to contact Bluehost for further support.

I hope that points you in the right direction.
