  Hello,

  I already have a domain through GoDaddy, but when I try to link it to my wordpress account it is asking me to pay for the .wordpress.com subscription even though I don’t need it. Is there any way to bypass this and not have to pay an extra $96 dollars?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi –

  In order to connect your domain to this WordPress.com account you’ll need to add a plan. See the options at https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Once the plan is added follow these steps to connect the domain:

  1. click on My Sites
  2. select Domains from left hand menu
  3. use Add button
  4. type in the domain

  Hello,

  A plan must be added even if you already have a domain with GoDaddy?

  I already own jrapprentice.org*

  Yes, you still need a plan with us. The domain was purchased from GoDaddy, not WordPress.com.
