Website login not recognising my user name and website is hacked

  Hello, I need urgent help to get our website back up. We are in the start of promotions and the website is continuously being hacked and now my login is not being recognised.

  Sandalwoodseedoil is not the website I am trying to access. Its a different site that I cant get into through the wordpress.com”website”admin

  If it was a flaw of WordPress many, if not most of the blogs would have been hacked. As an IT professional with many years of experience, I would suggest you to use STRONG passwords that cannot be guessed. Free advise, use a password vault that can also generate strong passwords for you that you no longer need to remember. There are several good ones out there, I use both VeraCrypt and Bitwarden. The latter you can use across platforms, even your mobile phone.

  Thank you @lordofscripts I did change the password a few times to strong automatically generated but not using a vault. I will try this once I have the problem fixed and can access admin. Appreciate the tip using a vault, definitely need to do that!!

  Your site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. It’s even in no way connected to a WordPress.com account.
  As your site uses the open source wordpress.org, we can’t help you and you must take care if security yourself.
